Do you check OIG and other exclusion databases before hire, not just through ongoing monitoring?

Yes. OIG, SAM, OFAC, and other exclusion databases can be searched as a one-time pre-hire check through the National Criminal Scan (which includes these as database components) or ordered as standalone primary source searches. Ongoing monitoring is a separate enrollment that runs continuously after hire. Most healthcare compliance programs require both: a point-in-time check at hire and continuous monitoring thereafter.

Can you screen contractors, volunteers, and non-employees?

Yes. PreSearch uses fully customizable role-based ordering, so you can define separate screening packages for employees, contractors, volunteers, and any other worker type your organization uses. Each role gets the right searches automatically, and nothing requires manual package selection at the time of order.

We hire travel nurses and staff across multiple states. How does that work?

What does a statewide criminal search actually cover? Is it the same as a county search?

It depends entirely on the state. Some state repositories are updated directly from county courts in real time and provide coverage equivalent to individual county searches.
